WS Browser Basic Functions Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy was updated and took effect on August 26, 2025.

Introduction

The WS Browser is a platform providing services to user (hereinafter referred to as “you”) by Web Space Browser Pte. Ltd. and its affiliated companies (hereinafter referred to as WS or we). Through this 《WS Browser Basic Functions Privacy Policy》 (hereinafter referred to as “this Privacy Policy”), we aim to clearly outline how we process and protect your personal information when you use the products and/or services we provide.

1.Scope of Application

This Privacy Policy applies to all basic function services of the “WS Browser” provided to you. To avoid doubt, Basic Functions refer to the search and access, information browsing, downloading, and security assurance services we provide it to you through the “WS Browser”. This Privacy Policy serves as the statement and commitment regarding the processing and protection of personal information involved in providing the basic function services of the WS Browser.

Please note that **this Privacy Policy does not apply to products and/or services provided to you by third-party platforms that you access through the “WS Browser”. When you use products and/or services provided by a third-party platform, you should carefully read their privacy policy or similar statement and make cautious decisions.

2.Legal Basis for Processing Personal Information

Before you begin using our basic functions, please be sure to carefully read and understand this Privacy Policy, paying special attention to the clauses we have marked with bold/bold underline, and only start using the service after you have fully understood and agreed. Your agreement to this Privacy Policy represents your consent to the collection of personal information only when using the basic functions.

Furthermore, in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Law and other relevant laws and regulations, we may process your personal information without obtaining your authorized consent in the following circumstances:

When necessary for the conclusion or performance of a contract to which the individual is a party;

When necessary for fulfilling statutory duties or legal obligations;

When necessary for responding to sudden public health events or, in emergency situations, to protect the life, health, and property safety of a natural person;

When processing personal information that has been voluntarily disclosed by the individual or has otherwise been lawfully made public, within a reasonable scope as stipulated by the Personal Information Protection Law;

II. What Information We Collect and How We Use It

The WS Browser does not require account registration to use all basic functions. In the current version, we do not, by default, associate your data with any account, upload it to the cloud, or conduct cross-platform advertising tracking. In the future, for the purpose of enhancing user experience, product features, or commercial cooperation, we may implement relevant features upon obtaining your consent or within the scope permitted by law.

We will adhere to the principles of legitimacy, legality, and necessity. To provide you with basic function services, we will collect and use your information for the following purposes described in this Privacy Policy. You have the right to choose whether or not to provide this information. If you choose not to provide it, we may not be able to provide you with the corresponding services.

The specifics are as follows:

(A) Searching and Accessing Web Pages

1.Standard Mode

In this mode, you can use the browser to search and access web content. To ensure the best display effect and improve usage security and stability, we will collect:

  • Device Information: Including device model, device identifier (e.g. Android ID (for Android versions below Q) or OAID), system version information, network type, screen size and resolution, system settings (such as language, region), and acceleration sensor (used for screen orientation switching).

  • Search Keywords: Used to implement the search function, making it convenient for you to re-enter queries or view relevant results.

  • Clipboard Data (triggered only when the user copies/pastes): Used for quick retrieval services. We will not save this information.

If you use the “Scan” function (to recognize barcodes, QR codes, etc.), you need to enable the Camera Permission, and we will collect ambient light sensor information to optimize the scanning effect. The captured content is only used for real-time processing and will not be saved.

2.Incognito Mode

In Incognito Mode, we still need to collect the aforementioned Device Information to ensure the proper functioning of the features, but we will not save your browsing history, website data, Cookie, or information entered into forms.

(B) Browsing Web Pages

When you use the WS Browser to access web pages:

  • We will not upload your browsing history to our servers. All records are saved only on your device locally, and you can clear your history at any time through the browser setting;

  • To provide necessary features (such as localized web display), we may use your IP address for regional adaptation, but this will not be used for other purposes;

  • When you use the web page sharing feature, we will read application list information (e.g. WeChat), strictly for the purpose of providing sharing channels. We will not collect or store any additional information;

  • Users understand and agree that WS has the right to use de-identified or anonymized data, provided it does not involve the user’s personal identity, for advertising optimization, product improvement, market analysis, or commercial cooperation.

(C) Downloading

To provide download services, we will invoke the download management feature of our partners and need to obtain:

  • Device Storage Permission (for Android versions below Q) to save files;

  • Network status, download path, custom file name, and download address. This data is used solely for implementing the download function.

(D) Security Management

To ensure security, we will collect:

  • Device identifiers (Android ID or OAID);

  • Suspicious link (URL) information, used only for identifying risky websites and protecting users from phishing attacks.

(E) Personalized Content or Ad Recommendations

The WS Browser may recommend more relevant content or advertisements to you based on your Device Information, IP address, search keywords, and browsing behavior (including history URLs, news content exposure, and clicks).

  • We will not conduct cross-platform advertising tracking or associate this information with your personal identity.

  • If you do not agree to receive personalized recommendations, you can disable them in the browser settings.

(F) Summary of System Permission Calls

  • Storage Permission: Used for downloading files and managing local files;

  • Camera Permission: Used for the Scan function or uploading images via a webpage;

  • Recording Permission: Used only when a webpage requires voice input;

  • Location Permission: Used only when required by a webpage (such as map services).

III. How We Entrust, Share, Transfer, and Publicly Disclose Your Personal Information

(A) Entrusted Processing

To provide you with more complete and better-quality products and/or services, certain functions may be provided by our partners. We may entrust partners to process certain personal information of yours, such as infrastructure technical services, storage services, customer service, data processing services, and advertising services.

For companies, organizations, and individuals entrusted by us to process your personal information, we will sign strict data processing agreements with them, clearly defining the matters, duration, nature, and purpose of data processing, as well as the responsibilities of both parties. We require partners to process your personal information strictly in accordance with our requirements, the provisions of this Privacy Policy, and other relevant confidentiality and security measures.

(B) Sharing

1.Your explicit consent has been obtained, or you have actively disclosed the information within our services (e.g., through sharing or on public pages);

IV. How We Protect Your Personal Information

(A) Security Measures

We are committed to safeguarding the security of your personal information. To prevent your personal information from being leaked, damaged, misused, unauthorized access, unauthorized disclosure, or alteration, we adopt physical, electronic, and managerial measures, in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, to protect the security of the information we collect from your mobile device.

Furthermore, we regularly conduct security and privacy protection training to enhance our employees’ awareness and ability to protect personal information. When cooperating with third parties involving personal information processing, we conduct due diligence to ensure they possess data protection capabilities and sign data processing agreements to clarify responsibilities and obligations. During cooperation, we will periodically supervise and audit their data processing practices to ensure they adopt legal, compliant, and reasonable technical and managerial measures to secure your personal information.

(B) Personal Information Security Incidents

Despite the necessary protective measures we take, please be aware that the internet is not absolutely secure. If, due to force majeure or other reasons, information is accessed without authorization, publicly disclosed, tampered with, or destroyed, causing damage to your legitimate rights and interests, we will immediately activate our emergency plan, take reasonable steps to mitigate the risk, and in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements, promptly inform you, including:

V. How We Store Your Personal

(A) Storage Period

Unless otherwise required by laws, regulations, or regulatory authorities, we will store your personal information for the reasonable period necessary to achieve the purposes of this policy and may appropriately extend the retention period due to compliance with legal requirements, compliance audits, dispute resolution, or security needs.

(B) Deletion and Anonymization

When the purposes described in this Privacy Policy are achieved, or when you apply to cancel related services, or when we terminate the corresponding products and/or services, we will stop storing, and within a reasonable period, delete or anonymize your personal information, unless otherwise stipulated by laws and regulations.

VI. How We Handle the Personal Information of Minors

We place great importance on the protection of minors’ personal information. We recommend that parents or guardians guide minors in using the WS Browser.

If you are a minor under the age of 18, please carefully read this Privacy Policy with your guardian, and use our services or provide information to us only after obtaining the consent of your parent or guardian.

If you find errors in your information, you can make changes on the browser’s settings page or contact us via the contact information provided in this Privacy Policy to request the correction of errors or the supplementation of incomplete information.

You can change the scope of authorization or withdraw consent at any time. We provide the following methods:

1.Close relevant permissions through the device system or browser “Settings > Permission Management”;

2.Contact us to submit a request to withdraw consent.

After withdrawing consent, we will process the request within fifteen (15) working days and stop collecting, using, or sharing your personal information as per your request. However, please note that withdrawing consent may result in certain features becoming unusable.

(D) Right to Deletion

You can request the deletion of your personal information in the following circumstances:

1.The purpose of processing has been achieved or cannot be achieved;

2.We stop providing the service, or the storage period has expired;

(H) Account Cancellation

The WS Browser does not require account registration, therefore, there is no browser account cancellation process. If you uninstall the WS Browser, related local data will be cleared upon uninstallation, unless otherwise required by laws and regulations to be retained.

You can exercise the rights mentioned above by using the contact information provided in this Privacy Policy. To ensure security, we may need to verify your identity. We will complete the processing within fifteen (15) working days after receiving the request.

VIII. Notices and Revisions

To provide you with better products and/or services, our business may change, and this Privacy Policy may be updated.

If you do not agree with the revised content, you should immediately stop using the WS Browser; your continued use will be deemed acceptance of the changed policy.
